To answer the question “what’s new” Young Lion releases an average of four fun, small-batch, and special release beers every month. YLBC continues to develop fun and innovative brews while helping to build a community around craft beverage production in New York State.
Raspberry Gose is BACK!!! This contemporary gose uses wheat, acidulated and pale malts. We add coriander and salt in the brewhouse to add earthy and saline notes. This sour worted beer is tart and sweet. We add raspberry and tart cherry to the secondary, to give a wonderful fruit character to this warm weather offering.

Our grapefruit Helles lager is a crisp, light lager brewed
with rice and pilsner malt in the brewhouse and hopped
with Mandarina Bavaria hops to give a slight citrus
character on the way into the fermenter.
We then lagered this beer for eight weeks and conditioned
it on REAL grapefruit puree. The resulting beer is a beer
you won’t be able to stop drinking; we can’t!

A Hazy, Double, New England Style IPA is precisely what we all need to say ‘goodbye’ to Winter and ‘HELLO’ to Spring! We brewed this beer with copious amounts of oat malt and flaked oats for a silky, soft mouthfeel. We then double dry-hopped it with our favorite hops, Vista, Citra and Nelson Sauvin. The resulting beer is loaded with white grape and citrus notes, perfect toast to Spring. In stores now!

Young Lion’s Oktoberfest is a traditional German Fest beer adhering to German Purity Laws. Its notes of chocolate and caramel come from its malt base of German Pilsner, Vienna, Caramunich, and chocolate wheat. It's Back!!! Young Lion Sour Series...Watermelon Pickly Pear Gose, this contemporary Gose is brewed with watermelon and prickly pear. A base of wheat and oats create this beer's soft body, while traditional Sea Salt and coriander are incorporated to balance the flavors. Finally, we condition this beer on 18lbs of watermelon and prickly pear fruit, resulting in a soft, sessionable beer you won’t be able to put down.

This updated Hazy New England Style IPA pairs well with crisp cool nights. We brewed this beer with copious amounts of oat malt and flaked oats for a silky, soft mouthfeel. We then double-dry hopped it with two of our favorite southern hemisphere hops, Nelson Sauvin and Waimea.
The resulting beer is loaded
with white grape and citrus notes with a super soft finish.

This beer is paired best with being outdoors, a true session beer with only 100 calories per 12 oz serving. We use pale, victory and oat malts along with flaked oats for the grain bill. Then we dry hopped it with Simcoe giving it a sexy, smooth complexity.

The Honey Bear IPA was inspired by the black bears who like hanging out in Canandaigua. We use oats, milk sugar, and wildflower honey along with a double dry hop of Citra to round out this brew. The result is a citrus-forward IPA with notes of honey and floral character.

Gift Moose is a Hazy New England style double IPA. We use malted barley grown in Maine, raw wheat, rice and oats to comprise the grain bill. We then use generous amounts of lactose and Mandarina Bavaria hops in the brewhouse and double dry hop with Sultana, Sabro and simcoe powder. "Berliner Weisse" is a style of sour, wheat beer that was popularized in 16th Century, Berlin, Germany. We only call ours "Berliner", however, because instead of traditional wheat, we use rye for a spicier flavor. We sour the wort to get the desired level of acidity, then boil it, and add mulling spices. A blend of house yeast & farmhouse yeasts are added during fermentation creates a subtle, wild flavor. Finally, we add fruit during the secondary fermentation to round out the tartness of our Cranberry Berliner. We hope you will drink this flavorful beer to warm-up through the cold months while enjoying the benefits of its lower ABV.
